Here you will find answers to the questions:
Why does the camera send black pictures at night? Why are my night pictures black?

This is how you check the functionality of the LEDs:

You can easily check the functionality of the infrared LEDs with your mobile phone.

Look through your mobile phone in the dark when the camera triggers for a picture. Then the 940nm flash is visible.

In the following picture this is shown by means of the icuhunt (3G model).

Solutions for the CLOM Cam 5 and icucam 5

  • Check whether the batteries still have sufficient energy available. Too little energy means that the infrared flash cannot be triggered or can only be triggered slightly.
  • Make sure that all batteries are of the same brand and energy level.
  • Set the night mode in the camera to "Maximum range".
  • Check that there is no other light source nearby or that an object very close to the camera is reflecting the pre-flash. This can cause the exposure to be very low (backlight effect can be caused by reflecting light from a close object in front of the lens).

Solutions for the icuhunt/icutrap

The camera takes black pictures if there is a problem with the power supply.

Based on our experience, we ask you to check the following points:

  • Are the images completely black?
  • Are rechargeable batteries used for operation? These have an even lower voltage at low temperatures and cannot supply the flash sufficiently.
  • Has the camera only stopped working after changing the battery?
  • Have batteries possibly shifted in the rear part? (= main cause)
  • Has a contact of the rear part broken off?

In 99% of the cases, the problem can be solved with the above questions.
